FAITH AND GRATITUDE

“And He said to him, Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.” (Luke 17:19 NKJV)

It is easy to read these simple words. It is easy to say, “Wonderful.” Yet all of Christianity is wrapped up in them. Where there is genuine faith, there is always expressed gratitude. By coming back to thank Jesus, the Samaritan revealed his faith.

For reason of his faith, Jesus could say, “Thy faith hath made thee whole.” The others received physical healing, but were they saved? Life is still like that. Some so called “church members” accept blessings but by example show little gratitude to God.

For some, gratitude to God is difficult. If you find it so, examine your faith. When one feels certain that Jesus has healed him or her from sin, gratitude becomes a compelling force in the heart.

“Now thank we all our God with heart and hands and voices,
Who wondrous things hath done, in whom His world rejoices;
Who from our mother’s arms, hath blessed us on our way
With countless gifts of love, and still is ours today.

” Pray that God will strengthen you to remember His Holy Word. Especially, “take and drink, this is the blood of the New Testament, shed for thy sins.” Be grateful for what God has so richly given you.

“...Striving together for the faith of the gospel.” (Philippians 1:27 NKJV)
