FORGIVENESS (2)
“Then Jesus said to the centurion, Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you. And his servant was healed that same hour.”(Matthew 8:13 NKJV)
An officer of the army came to Jesus pleading in behalf of one of his servants. That in itself was unusual. But even more unusual was this man’s faith in the power of Christ—that Jesus could, simply by speaking the word, heal his servant.
Have you made God’s forgiveness difficult in your life? For the centurion’s servant’s life was transformed by the Word of Jesus. The life that is broken and incomplete by reason of sin can be healed and made whole by the grace of God. The Word of God has been spoken. Salvation is complete. Only have enough faith in Jesus Christ to obey His Word.
Your Lord speaks to all who will receive His grace—and certainly all mankind needs it—when He says, “...Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done...” God is that good to us and faith that obeys His Word is that simple.
“There is welcome for the sinner,
And more graces for the good;
There is mercy with the Savior;
There is healing in His blood.”
