HAVE BIBLE WILL TRAVEL
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to Salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.” (Romans 1:16 NKJV)
In Romans 10:17 points out that faith comes as we hear God’s word. Yet, many of us seemingly cannot find the time outside of worship or Bible Study each week to spend a few minutes in prayer and meditation with God’s Word. It is only as we study God’s manual for life will we understand how God works with His people and reveals Jesus. Here are five suggestions that might help find time to read the Bible daily and increase faith in God’s Word:
First, carry a Bible in your attaché case, purse or coat pocket. You never know when you might have a few spare minutes to instill God’s Word in your heart.
Second, put a Bible by your bed. If you cannot sleep, turn on the light and turn to the Book of Psalms. Let God’s Holy Word lull you to sleep.
Third, have a Bible with you while waiting for unpunctual people, a meeting to start or at the doctor’s office. Time is a gift from God, and we should use it fruitfully.
Fourth, never go on a trip by plane, bus, or train without your Bible. During such travels, it’s possible that others may recognize your study of God’s Word, perhaps prompting spiritual exchanges.
Fifth, never forget that reading the Bible is a command of God (Col. 1:16). If you can read just thirty minutes each day, you will have spent 10,950 minutes a year feeding your mind and heart with the precious teachings God has communicated just for you!
