HEALING

“But they kept silent. And He took him and healed him, and let him go.” (Luke 14:4 NKJV)

Today there are hospitals large and small throughout the entire world. They do a wonderful work caring for people when they are sick and in need of attention of one kind or another. The first hospitals were started by people who believed in the healing mission of Christ. Christian mission fields today, like the Philippines, have Christian doctors and nurses, helping care for bodies as well as souls.

Scriptures tell us again and again that God wants mankind to care for the physical body. It is the responsibility of a Christian to stay as healthy as possible, by sane living and not abusing the body. When you as a believer become ill, you should pray for God’s healing grace. This means you will do you can with your doctor’s help, leaving the rest in God’s care, confident that He will do what is best for His children.

“O Thou, Physician blest,
Make clean the guilty soul
And by many a sin opprest,
Restore, and keep whole.”

Pray that God will help you treasure your health and to do all in your power to keep your body a fit temple of God’s Holy Spirit.
