To all graduates, CONGRATULATIONS! And to each of you, this advice: Get a life!

Get a life that is more than school and work, career and investments, cars and houses. As important as these things are in their place, they must not become the meaning of your life. Your life must be about people. Relationships must be more valuable than stuff. Love people, and use things, don’t ever reverse the order.

Get a life that is larger than the world you know today. Keep learning. Seek out new experiences. Avoid monotony and boredom. Revel in new sights and sounds. Travel when you have the opportunity. Savor cool water on hot days—and every sunset you are privileged to witness.

Get a life that honors God in all you do. Respect people; they are made in God’s image. Honor your commitments; God will always be faithful to His promises. Be a person of character; who you are will always be more important than what you have. Know, serve, and imitate Christ, He is, after all, the way, the truth, and THE LIFE.
