LIVE EACH DAY WITH LOVE
“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13)
What a wonderful way to start the week, by reading God’s Holy Word and meeting with God’s people to worship. We are able to praise God, take communion, sing, pray, fellowship and express love to our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Then, on Monday morning, our weekly routine begins. We are on our jobs each day of the week doing our very best. We may be able to deal better with each days challenges, if we would spend a few minutes each morning thinking of someone who needs a word or two of love—maybe a friend, a supervisor, cafeteria worker, custodian or other office personnel.
Saturday is a day to spend with family and mow grass—maybe attend a ball game, go to the store, etc. As Dr. Richard Carlson states in his book, Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff With Your Family, “Start the day with love, live the day with love, and end the day with love.”
“Start the day with love...”—means that we wake up in the morning, open up our heart and remember our intent to express love.
“...live the day with love...”—means that our choices and actions stem from a decision to be loving, patient, kind and gentle.
“...end the day with love”—means that we take a moment at the end of the day to reflect and be grateful. We can do this by going to our Lord in prayer or by quiet meditation. Try reading those great Scriptures on love in 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 to end your day.
