ONE ANOTHER
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:34-35)
Often in this self-absorbed world we need to refocus our eyes on things that are truly important. The Gospel of Jesus Christ calls us to be “one another” people. The way we treat each other is the strongest evangelistic sermon many people may ever hear or see. Consider this compilation of passages and focus on the true nature of our walk with God.
“Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.” (Romans 12:10).
“Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.” (Romans 12:16).
“Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.” (Romans 15:7).
“I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought.” (1 Corinthians 1:10).
“All the brothers here send you greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss.” (1 Corinthians 16:20).
“You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love.” (Galatians 5:13).
“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” (Ephesians 4:2).
“Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.” (Ephesians 5:19-21).
“Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” (Colossians 3:13). “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:11). “But exhort one another daily, while it is called today, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.” (Hebrews 3:13).
“Brothers, do not slander one another...” (James 4:11).
“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7).
“And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.” (1 John 3:23).
“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.” (1 John 4:7).
“Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.” (1 John 4:11-12).
