THE ARMOR OF GOD
“Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” (Ephesians 6:11)
As we go through out this life, we always run into a problem with someone out there. The reason for this is that the devil is real and is like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). This is the main reason why we need to have the full armor of God with us at all times. We are called by God to be different in all ways not just in ways that are convenient with us. What I mean by this is that we need to act like a Christian at all times, because we never know who is watching us as we go through out our day.
In order to have the full armor of God with us at all times, we need to learn more about what He wants us to do. The only way we can do this is through His Word. “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV) Paul tells us in the passages we read today that we must be ready not for the struggles against the flesh, but against the authorities of this dark world.
We have to have the armor of God on at all times because Satan is not ever going to leave us alone as long as we are trying to live for God. Paul also reminds us to be alert and to always keep on praying for all the saints. The saints being those who have followed Jesus through His watery grave called baptism. So, let us go out there today wearing the full armor of God, so when Satan comes at us we will be able to defeat him.
Dear God in heaven, it is our prayer that Your armor will be with us as we go through out this day. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
