TEMPTATION
“Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man.” (James 1:13)
We have no right to blame God when bad things happen to us. James 1:13, points out that God does not tempt any person. Satan is the tempter and he must first ask God for permission before he can do anything.
One example of this can be found in Luke 22:31, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat.” Another example can be found in the book of Job, when Satan is allowed to test Job by taking away what God had so richly blessed him with.
The Good News is that “there hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it” (1 Corinthians 10:13).
No matter how difficult our life may get, we should be thankful for the hope we have in the fact that the Lord of the Universe is a righteous God who loves us and who knows what is best for us.
