“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.” (Ephesians 1:3)
Many of us were born in the last century, before a new millennium. Many computers didn’t recognize what was coming. The new millennium brought fear and uncertainty to business and individuals alike. Some said anarchy awaited us, while others were decidedly less pessimistic. Whatever your inclination may have been, we all experienced the first four digit change to time as we knew it, in a thousand years. In one solitary evening we observed the end of a day, a work week, a year, a decade, a century, and a millennium. What a unique period of time in which to live!
The timing of your birth is no less noteworthy than your placement. Were you born in the United States of America, the richest country on the planet? Wherever we were born, one thing is for sure—we had nothing to do with any of it, we can’t take one ounce of credit.
No one asked us when or where we’d like to be born. Our input was not sought as to which family we’d like to stake our claim. Even though we were not asked, our existence “at this time” and “in this place” is not a statistical anomaly; not an obscure answer to a mathematical formula. To the contrary, design is all around us. Design demands a designer. We see it all around. It’s in all of us. It’s in the uniqueness of our diverse talents brought together for a purpose—a fellowship of talents. And in Christ we have a mission.
Simple! Profound! By design!
