WILL I EVER GROW UP?
(LOVE LETS ME)
“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing...And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:1-3, 13 NKJ)
1 Corinthians 13 contains some of my favorite verses of scripture. There is no way I can say what these passages mean to me or reduce my feelings to words.
God loves us and we must learn to love God as well as learn to love our fellow man, more than ourselves. Love is everything, even greater than faith or hope.
God gave His Son to die to save us. How can I show love without giving myself? As children we “take,” but when we grow up we must “give,” with love.
Thanks to God, we can love.
