COMMUNICATE
“And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.” (Matthew 5:5)
Many of us witnessed the end of a century, and the beginning of another here on earth. What a time to live and experience life. Think back when the automobile was just beginning to be manufactured, while the common mode of transportation was still horse and buggy. Hard to believe that people lived in homes without central heat and air, no electricity, no indoor plumbing, wood cook stoves, and a real ice box. Communication was newspaper, telegraph, and U.S. mail.
Communication today is very hi-tech. Cell phones, pagers, email, call forwarding, satellite transmission, and newer advances becoming available every day. But there is one form of communication that has been around for years and will never be replaced or need to be updated. It will never be busy, too slow, out of zone, repaired, low battery, out of service, no answer, call later, leave message, on hold, mail box full, out of paper, no such number, temporarily disconnected, rate increased, or any other inconvenience.
Communication is easy, simple, and to the point (Matthew 6:5-15). How would you like to have the receiver already know the message before it is even sent (Matthew 6:8)? The line of communication is always open (1 Thessalonians 5:17-18). There are no territory limits (2 Timothy 2:8). The message will be received at any time and answered (James 5:13-18). It’s called prayer.
