It is remarkable to witness the freshness and power characterizing a ministry saturated with God’s Word. Sadly, most evangelists in this age are unable to sustain such lessons for any length of time; but these Bible themes are meant to be a tribute to the treasured resources hidden in the field of Scripture – in God’s Holy Word. Many an empty sanctuary would revive if modern-day preachers were to realize that they are not called to spin webs out of their own vitals, but are stewards charged to wisely divide the Word of Life, bringing forth from this Eternal Treasure things new and old.
From time to time, most of us need a little help; a starting point in developing a Bible lesson or sermon. We pray these Bible themes will provide a hint or thought to busy Christian leaders who, through devout study, experience, or varied reading, can fill in the missing Biblical material. In preparing these Scriptural themes for the Internet, a studious attempt has been made to avoid the old and hackneyed, i.e., extracts from other volumes of study.
Our goal is to assist preachers, Bible teachers, and students seeking Bible thoughts, ideas, and suggestions, hopefully assisting them in finding useful Bible themes for private or public study. We pray these “Lesson Starters” will prove helpful to the mind and a joy to the heart when studying the Holy Word of God – as well as saving valuable preparation time.
